Born in Russia and currently residing in Los Angeles, Lime Crime’s CEO, Founder and owner, Doe Deere exhibited an imaginative mind from an early age. Bright, bold colors, paints, and pencils were used as her ways to make a statement. Now, Doe Deere is able to create color for a living as an entrepreneur with her attention-grabbing cosmetic line. Lime Crime was launched in 2008. Doe Deere has been named as one of the Top Inspiring Female Entrepreneurs by Self Made Magazine.

Entrepreneurship began early for Doe Deere when she was 13 years old back in Russia. She began her first business by selling temporary tattoos. In her later years, Doe Deere found it difficult to find makeup bright enough to match clothing she wore and sold on Ebay. This inspired her to develop radical lip colors herself. The unusual name Lime Crime came about when she needed a name for her Ebay store. It symbolizes her favorite color of bright green. For Doe Deere, the company name expresses a revolution of color for those individuals who are not afraid to think outside the box.

Doe Deere believes fashion and makeup work as a pair. She majored in fashion design at FIT in New York City. Doe Deere feels that we express ourselves by what we wear, how we style our hair, and our choice of makeup. The fans and consumers of Lime Crime are nicknamed Unicorns. Doe Deere says these individuals are aware they are different, and proud to be so. It takes a daring person to wear these bold colors. The Unicorn Lipsticks were launched in 2009. Lime Crime became the first cosmetic company to introduce these lip colors.

The liquid to matte lipsticks known as Velvetines came about in 2012, and has no animal-derived ingredients. It spearheaded the trend of liquid to matte lipsticks. Lime Crime’s entire cosmetic line is certified cruelty-free by Leaping Bunny. They are the most prominent certifier in the beauty industry. Doe Deere oversees all product development, and is considered a revolutionary in this ever-changing beauty industry. She is a staunch supporter of anyone with an entrepreneurial spirit, and the heart to follow their dreams just as she did.
